Welcome to the Family Cloud

Only 2 weeks after we released the very first Family White Room, we moved ahead to a brandnew beta theme, got inspired and updated the working title to the Family Cloud 2.0

Our idea is still to be the one and only family hub, collecting all activity streams of our family members, and provide premium content to ourselves and our friends.

As mentioned earlier, your good old Geeklog ID will no longer work, so go ahead and do register again here.

Welcome to the White Room

I am proud to announce that we have kind of succesfully migrated our good old geeklog driven website to our brandnew baby running on drupal with some cool and new features, under the working title of the white room. We moved most of the old content (still having a small challenge with the old swedish characterset of öäå, so unicode conversions can be challenging outside SAP) but we let the old comments and non family users behind
(just quickly reregister it's tested and working).

We hooked up XHM, Boris and Archipelago to get imported in the new website automatically, resulting in a pretty impressive tag cloud while I can keep on using blogger and picasa to post the easy way. Next on the list will be our small collection of Movies and the little bit larger collection of Picz we have on Picasa, all automatically imported and added to the cloud.

4 Months Later ...

4 Months after my latest post, and live has not been much more relaxed :-)

Work is still pretty buzzy, and winter has kickstarted here in the Nordics.

So not really much new happening on the english speaking side of our little spot on the web. However, we will try to kickstart some smaller updates here the coming weeks.

The very first experiment is enabling the comments again, basically to give Wivi a form of feedback for the Ladies in White. So for now Anonymous Comments are allowed again. Let s see if we can manage to keep the spam to a limit and the fun factor to a maximum.

Enjoy and behave :-)

In Memoriam - A Beauty ...

If you are wondering what is going on with these two kind of images here and the new menu entry called In Memoriam, well ... we were asked to do some testing for Machinari and offcourse we didnMachinari is making a new photo plugin for Geeklog, and allthough we are kind of a Gallery addict, this one looks really COOL and I am already seriously considering to migrate away from Gallery to Inmemoriam ...

So for now, bear with us, while we try to do some testing with it, and give feedback to M.

For those of you wanting to stay on top of Machinari´s work and the release of this great plugin, have a look here:

SPAM - Quick Update

In order to clean up this one annoying SPAMMER I installed a quick addon, but something went wrong and all the 20 good comments we had are removed.

Since I truly believe in Yesterday I do not really feel like restoring any old backup.

So if you wonder why your comment is gone, it was an accident (except for annoying mister 195.225.176.57 ) who we will add to our GETAWAY list ...

For those who want the technical background of it ... (removed)

Good to know this Guy is known by a lot of people, and it wasn

Yesterday

Yesterday,
All those backups seemed a waste of pay.
Now my database has gone away.
Oh I believe in yesterday.

Suddenly,
There's not half the files there used to be,
And there's a milestone
hanging over me
The system crashed so suddenly.

I pushed something wrong
What it was I could not say.

Now all my data's gone
and I long for yesterday-ay-ay-ay.

Yesterday,
The need for back-ups seemed so far away.
I knew my data was all here to stay,
Now I believe in yesterday.

feeling foxy ?

Have been using Firefox lately to surf the internet, and except for some die hard solutions I need to use on a regular base and only support IE, it has been a really, really great experience ... and congratz to the guys and girls over at Mozilla to make this work and reaching the 50 million downloads this weekend ...

Feeling Foxy ... Give it a try !

Fooling Around ...

Hello Stranger ...

Currently playing around with the design of the site and this "unfortunatly" makes it look weird at some times.

And yes you may call me lazy for not applying the good old development - quality - production cycle.

So no Pettson for now and strange looking right colums ... but stay tuned

Anyway ... progress is coming along fine and I guess I am getting where I want to go ...

The first split-off is located at http://recept.vanrillaer.com and do note the date ;-)
