First "Fill Her Up" of the season ...

Benchmark: Boatwash II

Our Benchmark testing grounds were taking the same wellprotected "vik" or bay at full speed in pretty simular conditions before and after the boatwash to get a feel of how bad a dirty hull influences fuel and speed just before and after our boatwash.

Same crew, same weather, no real opposing winds or high waves.

The results are as expected, but it really proves it is worth to wash your hull at least twice a season (or if you are a heavy boater) three times a season as it will increase speed, and drastically reduce fuel consumption.

Measurements done against GPS Speed and engine fuel consumption.

Before:

Max speed: 22.6 knots with a steady fuel consumption of 56 liter / hour.

After:

Max speed: 33 knots with a steady fuel consumption of 56 liter / hour or 10 knots faster as before the wash.

Benchmark: Boatwash ...

The Benchmark has been done ...
The results are chocking ...
The write up is coming ...

But for sure it is proven ... a wash a day keeps the grass away :-)

Benchmarking ...

A wonderfull morning in the aftersummer ...
Lots of seabirds resting in the dock ...
Falling tree leafs ....
A ringing mobile ... 070 7799999

And 5 minutes later we have an appointement to get our boat bottom cleaned in Vaxholm this afternoon.

Great timing to do some benchmarking on before and after cleaning the hull ...
How is the cleaning coming along ...
Etcetera ...

Stay Tuned !

Strömma Shopping ...

After two days of pooring water and stormy weather and with even more bad weather ahead the coming days, we decided to go for a short trip, including all things wonderfull in life. Good company, good food, wonderfull scenery on the way and yes ... even outlet shopping.

Strömma Kanal, Strömma Krogen and Strömma Outlet ... it almost sounds like ... fun :-)
